    1968 2.0 Aluminium vs Mag

    Can anybody tell me if engine number 3280132 from a 68 911 is likely to be Aluminium or Magnesium (don't have access / pictures at the moment so can't tell visually).

    Very definitive answer - is this because of the low engine number for the year?

    According to Bruce Anderson, the last engine serial numbers for the sand-cast aluminium engines were:

    3280631 - engine type no 901/14

    3380148 - engine type no 901/17 (Sportomatic)
