Thread: Shell Game

    Shell Game

I recently acquired this seat shell and think that it might just be a Scheel.

    However, I'm not 100% sure.

I thought you guys would get a kick out seeing this thing and maybe have some insights to offer as to what it actually is.

Looks like the style in my car, which are heavier replicas supposedly of a "real RSR bucket seat".

You could ask Dave (CP) as he recovered one I believe. If not, just ask Gerrit at NML Depot. Call him at 10am PST ... he will just be leaving the workshop at 7pm Euro time.

I thought it was a Scheel. Did all Scheel seats come with covered backs? Or were some delivered with bare back shells?

Hans had me cover his as bare back, and perhaps some of the race car installs were made that way. BUT i have no accurate knowledge that they did. All the Scheels I have seen have covered backs

    Me, too.

I measured mine against my 914 sliders today and, sadly, there's no way it'll fit on the 914 bases without a rigamarole. It's probably a 911-only seat. I guess into the rafters it goes...
