    The RED cap!

At least I found a NOS Breather oil tank with the correct red Cap.

I'd like to know if somebody of you knows the origins of that "A" ....
It should be perfect if i can find another ( i have lots of tanks without the correct cap...)

    Ah... another little tip:

THIS IS THE REAL retainer strip : look a the hook....

Looks like an Aeroquip ensignia to me. They are a manufacturer of fittings and hoses.

I konw this forum is great!
    Cornpanser, you're right!
    The Aeroquip logo is this:

and the "winged A" is the same!
So, the cap should arrive from this company.... BUT why to use an Aeroquip cap that surely come from an oil system and not use this system on a 911?

    Andrea,
Those caps are used to seal off the ends of male hydraulic fittings. I am pretty sure that this particular cap you have was not used originally. However, it is very likely that the factory might have used a hydraulic fitting cap in those tanks. Its a pretty generic piece and Hans or Olaf may have had one (from a comparable German Mfg) laying on his workbench when they installedthe first overflow tank and thought "hey, this will work!" =)

Yep that is an Aeroquip AN-16 cap there, similar but not the same as the ones in this hose of mine

And the hook is similar to the one that comes with a current production battery strap.

Not sure how similar the modern day version is. They do still offer a number -16 plastic plug.

That depends, will it be featured in any upcoming self-published art books?
