    WTB: 2.2 Motor

I'm currently in the planning stages of a new project, and the preferred method of propulsion is a nice (perhaps warmed-over?) 2.2L motor. I have spoken with a board member on Pelican about one that was advertised a while back, but the motor's history is sketchy and it's performance untested. If anyone has a nice, reasonably priced 2.2L for sale, please give me a shout. I'd be particularly interested in a motor/tranny combo if I should get so lucky.

    Thanks in advance to all,

    Mike

Even though its' history is sketchy and its' performance is untested, it's still cheap...

Thanks GS. Yes, it's definitely a great deal if I plug it in and it runs beautifully. If however, it eats itself the first time it is started then it's a $4k (price + shipping) mistake on my part. The person who rebuilt the motor seems to sell quite a lot of rusted out cars here, on Pelican, and on eBay. I'm just trying to cover myself by making sure someone here doesn't have a plug-and-play proven motor sitting in their garage ready to go.

Just to be clear to any readers, GS has been very helpful and is NOT the rebuilder of the engine in question. I'm just doing some diligence work before possibly buying his motor.

    Thanks GS.

    Cheers,
    Mike
