Which is the correct headrest for leather sport seat?

I only seen the D head rests on LEATHER Sport seats... My very late (August 1973) 10th from the last 911E built still has the D head rests...

    What do you guys think?

I think that I should have bought that car when it was for sale.

Seriously, all of the leather upholstered cars have the d-shape headrests. I think that it would be more difficult to get the leather to fit right, on the peanut headrests.

    Interesting question.
I always assumed that with changing of the hinges of the standard seats from chrome to black and after that to double locking style in '73 (for both standard and sport) they also changed the headrest to peanut shape.
Then again in the RS book it's mentioned that the sports seats were delivered with both types throughout the production year......
I had my 73 double lock set done in leather including the headrests and it works out fine, so they should have been able to do that at the factory to.......

Yes I agree both types of head rests were available on vinyl Standard and Sport Seats without a doubt... But has any one ever seen ORIGINAL LEATHER Peanut head rests? I for one have not!

It is my understanding that D shape was leather and Peanut was Vinyl in the Sport seats for sure. Gordon
