    Early Vent Window Frame Removal

I am in the process of having all my chrome redone on my 68 Targa, and have come upon a roadblock. How do you get the glass out of the front vent window frame without breaking the glass? Is there solvent to be used or is it just pried out?

You will need to apply heat. I use a heat gun along the edge of the frame. The bonding will become supple and allow the frame to be removed.

I assume you have first removed the mechanical brace under the glass? If so, it's just the historical mung that has tried to merge glass, rubber and aluminum molecules. Try to soak the parting edges with some ATF or Kroil for a few days, then try again. You realize you may have to sacrifice the rubber.
