I have used both the Sears one, and Battery Tender. The Battery Tender one is more robust, but also I've had a light go out on one after about 3 months (out meaning no longer working). They both work well.

    I like the Battery Tender.

2008S and all...I have 5ea CTEK "Multi US 3300"/12VDC and one CTEK 6VDC charger connected continuously 24Hours/day and I have used them for a few years now...No Heat generation and no misshaps, so far...I did use the "Schumacher"-units ,Chuck is mentioning, and they worked great also but I had two issues with slow heat increase and sever cracking of the black plastic housing and one failure of one LED...The cracking was to the point of exposing the "internals"...it made me nervous so I changed...The CTEK can be found on E-bay and is in similar+ price region...One of the 12V/CTEK had a slight "relay-flutter" but was exchanged and since then everything is fine...Good Luck.../ Lars...

I've used the trickle chargers but have now switched to a larger schumaker charger that can charge the AGM type batteries. It also does trickle charging. It was about 100 at one of the auto parts stores.

Ctek does both. Other chargers perhaps are similar, not sure.

As long as the AGM-type battery is near-charged, most battery maintainers will do.
