    New battery acid/distilled water mix

I just purchased two new batteries for my 1970 911S. They are shipped dry and without a kit for the acid/distilled water. I have never done the mix before and have received conflicting information. I have been told it is a 3 to 1 ratio of distilled water to acid, with the distilled water being the 3 parts.

I don't want to make a mistake here, so does anyone know if this is the correct mix?

    Thanks for the help!

p/s I bought them at the Sierra Madre Collection and the cool thing is they are the real Porsche batteries. Kind of neat.

I can't really help with the mix ratio, but I suspect that depends on the acid strength you can get.
However, please remember to always add the acid to the water, not the other way around. I recall that it is an exothermic process, and the body of water helps to spread the heat. There are many other considerations, but that is the primary safety requirement.

You should be able to buy prepared acid at a battery store or maybe an autoparts store. At the dealer they usually give you a bottle when you buy the batteries.
I can't imagine though , why anyone would consider using a liquid acid battery in their car. You will end up with rust in the front battery area and if not caught, in the pan.

I found out that you add the acid straight and without any mixing with distilled water.
