    lemans positon / race number lights

    What were the type / style / brand of light used for position / race number illumination on the gt 911 porsches for lemans through the 69-74 years. i sure raj / hugh / etc... will know ( or have a few nos items in the draw )

    These Hella lamps were used on many of the Factory competition cars:



    They were fitted as rear license plate lamps on BMW 2002 models & can still be found at Classic BMW parts stockists.

    many thanks , i was searching for an hour but didn't find it , must be a glitch in my system. i found this unit on ebay but was trying to place it's correctness for the 69-73 years

    I'm not sure. The eBay light might have been used on the roof?
    Andy is correct as to the light he posted; that at least is very well known.

    i would believe they are the correct unit, the only photo of the yellow 72 lemans kremer car i have that barely shows it is attached and all the models / pics you see don't show the true location with race number on the passenger side rear quarter. now were can i get a shot of that side ?

    John,i agree they are the license plate lights on a bmw 2002.part #63.26.8.777.102 there are plenty in stock at bmw warehouses.list price of $36.59 each complete,just order through you local dealer.
