Definitely brings back memories of my first Porsche, a '66 912. Too bad the thread ended in 2010. I wonder how it's doing.

Really, cool! What a great project to have as a college kid. If only I had cash to dump into a project at age 21/22. I really admire the time, dedication, resoursefulness, and heart this kid had for his 912. These cars make it so addicting and easy to love a machine. I gave my ol' Pumpkin a winter charge run today, pulling it out of deep freeze, if only for 20 minutes. I spent the next hour ogling it in the hangar when I was working. I even had to give it a wipe down. I can't wait for May 1 to get it back on the road.
OK Bill, how did you find this? Are you a UCSC prof, mentor, mechanic, or what? It's a provoking thread, gets to the core of what you feel when you try to rationalize the insanity involved with consumating a realationship with a Porsche.

I searched porsche 912 wheel paint. I am in process of painting my steelies and was going deep into Google searches for other strange options. I really enjoyed the fresh perspective this young guy has.
