    Different dashboard the speaker grille is longer and thinner...trust me it is!!!

    Last year that they used Webber Carbs 69T

    First year for bright dip alloy window frames

    3 bar engine grill 69 only. Correct me if i'm wrong on that one?

    I think the other year full of one offs, 1968, had the aluminum bright dip frames first. That was the only year for opening vent windows on an aluminum frame. "Gas burner" wheels I thought started in 1970.

    Unique to 69 cardboard blower cover. Used SWB driver's floor board in a LWB car.

    Your right, just checked the parts manual, and it looks like the Gas burner's weren't an option in 69.

    My first reference was Dr. Johnson's book, it's the first time i've come across a mistake.

    Last year for push button (DOT) door handles on the outside, unique to 68/69. Triggers began in 70...

    I believe lightest of all the 911s, at least that's in the books.

    69 T/E engines got 67-68S valves (42/38mm I/E)
    69 S engines got the same as 906 valves (45/39mm) which resulted in a one-year/one-model-only cylinder head (MFI, 906 valves, 2.0L bore, S ports)
    69 S Compression ratio 9.9;1 (67S 9.8:1)
    69E/S got MFI systems
    69 all got CDI ignition
    First magnesium 901 transmissions, but using the same clutch as before, except for 69S which had a thinner disc and aluminum pressure plate (lightweight)

    Gearing changed from generally AFMSX to AFMSZ (longer 5th)

    902/16 mag transmission for 912 had special 6:29 Ring/Pinion

    Fuchs were Deep 6" Fuchs (not 5.5" any more) (with hearts)

    LWB cars got some mini flares compared to earlier SWB

    Headlights were the H1/'69-89 style with a top ridge

    horn grilles got smaller than those for SWB

    The rocker trim was a wide aluminum panel for the 'S trim' cars, which was most 911E's also, 911T trim remained essentially (exactly?) same as '65-68 'normal'

    The gauges in a '68-'69 are bolted in with brackets, compared to later '70 +, with black faces/white #'s/orange needles

    One-year only hazard pull

    The rear decklid no longer had a beam in the center; the grille was changed to a lighter aluminum 3-BAR grille ('70+ used 5-bar grille). Maybe SOME '68 had this but certainly not common

    The LWB cars used different control arms all the way around the car, these were the same until '73 ('74-89 aluminum rear control arms)

    I had a very nice Burgundy 1969 911t with Webbers, a real flyer. It came with vent windows..........and a much better defroster they were than the dash air. A very early car it also had no vin plate on the A pillar which added about 30 minutes to each speeding ticket while the nice officer looked in the book and repeated parrot fashion that it should be there-I was 22 and had no earthly reason to be driving such a nice car so all traffic stops were long ones. Like my hair in 79!

    Point is, there was no evidence there was ever a vin plate on the A pillar and no one had changed the windows, the car was pretty original when I got it, off a used car lot.
    Oh, the brakes were pretty horrible after hard use compared to my 73.

    Mr Beverly Hills, you're right about the very early 69's. The D.O.T. requirement for VIN tags didn't start until Jan. !st of 69, so all the cars produced before that date didn't get them, probably also explains your opening vent windows, typical Porsche, using up all the old parts!!
