86 Sport Purpose Carrera "O4"
In someones dream I guess. This was not Porsches finest hour.

Every time I see a car like this which is ridiculously over valued I can't help but automatically think of the classic Supertramp song: "Dreamer - you're nothing but a Dreamer...."
That would probably sell at Barrett Jackson......to someone that didn't know anything about Porsches!

Truly not one of the greatest 911's built, but there are a few of these that were built in Silver with a commemorative plaid interior designated as an Anniversary car. I know of one locally with around 60,000 miles with a perfect unblemished body , interior, and a recently refreshed engine, revised exhaust system that struggled to sell at 17,000. Just a few months ago.
I believe the current owner bought it back , after he had traded it on Touareg, and it sat for several months on the Porsche -VW dealer's floor. Seller's remorse.
Folly?????

I love the MY cars but this price is ridiculous. IIRC there is a guy on Pelican Parts who has been trying to sell a white low mile 76 Targa for around $40k, its been on there for about year I think. No Porsche thrives whilst sitting, especially the troublesome M.Y.
That's what my car looked like stock! The only main differences are the car in the ad has A/C and sport seats.
Needless to say my car looks a wee bit different these days.

What does Excellence say High Blue Book is on a 77' S ? ......anyone ?
Craig Jackson: "You can never pay too much. You can only pay too early". In this case, about a century too early.
There is a Gulf Blue 77' on Maui (my Island) , the car has been for sale for Years ! .....it is a 35K mile car w/ a Plaid interior(Kool!) . The down side is that it is a 77 911, Cookie Cutters , and someone screwed the original paint up , it is all Checked (alligatored) , the Trunk, door Jambs, engine bay are very nice though , Easy paint job .......He's @ $29K now , down from $40K .........I think i would pay $15k . If i Paint her and add Fuchs , she'd be a pretty car sitting in the Garage .......but still a 77' 911 !?!? ....or do i step up and Grab the2500 mile 04' GT2 stuck on the Big Island ???........
