    Body paint for a 1972

I know this has been discussed a million times and I did a search but can someone confirm that the wheel arches and underbody af a 72 is painted black, I know the trunk is body colour and the engine bay is black over the body colour but I just need to confirm the rest of the body please

It measures usually near 67%. ANY 60-70% would be close. That is as 0 is theortical non reflective and 100 is gloss.
Manufacturers don't use a standard. But semi-gloss is usually glossier than satin; matt is usually less. Even flat has a number about 10% or so.
In other words; satin is close. IMHO

    Chassis Black

    Clyde,
Sorry for the long explaination, but it took a while to find out the color was easy.
The black is the same as you would use in hiding the body color in the interior; like when you spray the seat belt anchors and seat slide bases.
After all that matching when we went looking for a brushable paint (concourse tie breaker) for the doors we found a product called "Chassis Black" that was right on.
