    64 911 Sells for $205K

The beautifully restored 64 Ivory/Blk 911 just sold at RM Amelia for $205K to a determined phone bidder. Very spirited bidding. Well done, congratulations!

Eade and his restoration team of Skip Shirley and Wayne Baker have got to be proud of all the work they put into that car. A few years after the car was sold to the east coast it brings top dollar.

I'd say the bidding must have been spirited !

Huge price isn't it? It seems a record bid for a (non-racing) classic 911 at auction? At least until the McQueen car comes up this Summer.

$205k + 10% buyer premium = $225.5k! Bidder on the phone, not at Amelia. American, has one other Porsche. Had seen the car.

Nice car, but that's just nuts! All I can say is...too bad my #300278 was made in January.

According to the jungle telegraph, Eade sold the car for $180k several years ago. $205k less the seller's fees (8%) plus entrance fee plus shipping and such suggests that the seller either broke even or maybe lost a little.

    Thomas,

By 'classic 911' do you mean a mid-60's 911? The reason I say that is, that there have been several(?) non race history '73 Carreras sold for more than $225K.
