Life is way too short to drive boring cars.
Here's what the horn installation looks like on a completely original '73 RS.
I think it's a good location, because it's behind the battery box, thus receives some protection from debris, and note they point down, not forward ( as in some of the photos in the link ) where trash could enter and become wedged.
Before it became Ruprecht, my Porsche was a '70 911 T

I dispute that thats correct, the horns should be red and the small one definately should point forward with its bracket attached to the bracket on the side of the battery box.
Thats how I have seen them on every 73RS and 73S or 73E I have owned ( 5 in total) some early 73 cars some mid some late.
The large one does point down and in your pic appears to have its correct bracket attached.
Original RS with black paint there, I don't think so original any more every 73 car I have seen has been body colour under the guards (Unless of course the car is black)

bill's horns (banjo style)are correct for a 72 (and late 71).
john's horn are correct for a 73 tho usually red in color.
this link is from the 1972 porsche parts catalogue.

it shows the orientation of the horns, 1 down and 1 forward.
clyde, i can post a picture of the bracket if you need.
fwiw, but i do not profess to be an expert, i did stay at a holiday inn express.

I've had my 73S since new and the horns have always been like my attached picture. They are dirty but they are red.

Wow thats a first for sure, USA spec car is it???
I have never seen both pointing down and those brackets are totally unfamiliar to me.
Every 73 car I have owned has looked like the pic Nick posted
