Door bottom and lower door skin patch panels from Restoration Design.

Can anyone tell me if door bottom and lower door skin parts sold by Restoration Design fit well? I am getting ready to repair the door bottoms of my 912 and figure it will be easier to buy and replace the entire parts vs. patching sections. I just want to be sure the stampings are a good fit. Thanks

Bottom sections fit well with little fitting required, bottom 6" requires a little bit of trimming. If you need a full skin i'd go for Porsche

    Hey, Mark . . .

If it were me? . . . I'd ask the Body Guy who'd be doing the job what he wants.

I used RD pieces --- outer rockers --- on my car. They're OK --- but if I had to do it again? . . . I'd go with a factory piece --- even a 'take-off' --- then let someone like John Esposito put it on right.

    Mark

Why not buy a whole door, they are fairly cheap.

Mark, nothing fits and I mean nothing fits unless it's an original part.
And even they would require some fitting.
Doing a door bottom on a 911 is not for the faint of heart!
I would find another door, unles you just have to use the original.
Please don't try this at home!

Rick, you are talking to the body guy. Obviously, you have not seen my 912 resto thread on PP. I can make most anything fit, but it is always nice to get something close if you are spending the money to have someone stamp it for you. Thanks

I have a nice set of dry California doors that I bought from Matt Cooley, never even been out of the box, I think they are even the same color?

Folks say that doors are a dime a dozen, but SWB doors are pretty hard to find in dry condition without rust bubbles in the seams, and without the myriad of other holes put in them by the factory.

Send me a PM if you are interested, I'll let them go for my acquisition price plus shipping from NH.

And beautiful work! It's going to awesome when it's done.
