Like many of you out there, I got the sickness and started the restoration of a 1970 911E. Won't see the car until December 2011, but the process should be fun! I have the photos listed in my profile if anyone is interested.

Mark,
First and foremost good luck with the project. After that I will ask you the same question my father in law asked me when I was dating my now wife. What are your intentions? Will you be upgrading the engine? Changing the paint? Flaring the rear wheels? Adding sport seats? Adding a roll cage?
Do tell.

Great questions? In a nut shell, it's a full restoration so right now the car is in the dismantle stage. If you get a chance to see my albums you get the idea. I'm going with matching # car, ivory white, sport seats, air condition, and the car will be redone inside and out. So after doing a refi on my house, and selling my sports watch, I went in full blast! I figured if I am going to restore something, might as well go and do it right. Of course, then I decided to go buy a 993 Concourse car because I felt I needed something to keep my mind off the dismantle stage Best, Mark

My intentions? to see it built and drive it! Question is whether I keep my 993 or go into another project.

Hey Mark
Good luck with the project, it will be worth it when you're done. I saw your car at CPR recently when I visited to check in on some repairs they are doing on my 914. I always roam around the shop and admire the various project they have going. I spent some time looking at your car, and thought it was very nice.
Brian showed me the room where they do all their own plating which was surprisingly simple but such a great idea. Having the ability to do plating on-site in small, if not individual lots really minimizes the risk of losing the hardware and parts original to your car. CPR also does anodizing on site. Your car should turn out great.

Thanks Nick. Brian has been great. He talked me into doing it! It's his fault!
I was really impressed with his operation. I plan I getting down there in a few weeks.
Glad someone saw the extra nuts and bolts from car.

Mark,
I applaud your use of home equity. Ivory cars are awesome. I've always been a sucker for a cinnamon interior but if you stay with the original black definitely take a look at Soterik's Herringbone.

Good luck.

By the way, if anyone hasn't seen CPR operations and cars, I'd take the drive. Very impressive!
