WTD/ 1968 Door Panels Basketweave vs. Elephant Hide

Restoring the 1968 911s, I found a pair of near "nos" basketweave door panels (replaced the cardboard panels, no speaker holes, good patina). I realized that I actually need "elephant hide" door panels for 1968 .

Does anyone have a pair of "elephant hide" door panels for sale or to trade against the pair of basketweave panels I already own?

If I cannot find any, I'll use the ones I have and probably match the lower dash to basketweave but I would prefer sticking to the original material!

This is the pattern I'm looking for (without the speaker hole):

I saw both repro versions at the LA Lit show. You'd probably have better luck inquiring on 912BBS as I recall the beginnings of the discussion taking place over there.

    Elephant Hide

Thomas, I have a friend that might have a very nice pair but in red.

Anyway, basket wave is nice on a 68S

there have been two guys with elephant hide stuff in the last couple of years. the most recent is a member named "bert" and he has advertised elephant hide dash stuff. i think the link is http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...highlight=1968

the other guy is from connecticut, just outside of new haven, and i haven't seen his name lately, but he went by "fastal" on ebay. he had some really nice elephant hide seats and i think some other interior stuff.

    i hope this helps.

Not to hijack this thread, but this is the 3rd or 4th time (first pic) I have seen 67 style window crank handles on a 68. Did the early 68s come with the 67 style window crank handles?

Not common but I have seen several '68 cars with the bare handles. The other thing that has thrown me off on two occasions is a '68 mirror in a '67.

Thanks Guys. From the chassis number, this car is a very early 68 car (number 9), which could explain why it still has some 67 parts.
