Chirping Speedo - a small bird must want out

the 73 speedo has developed an annoying fast paced chirp above 45. I have removed the speedo and oiled the cable thoroughly as well as turned the speedo face down and filled the cable entry sleave with oil and let that soak. Both methods provide a very temporary fix - a few minutes. Any one else solved this other than sending to Hollywood for a rebuild?

yup, I had this, if you wait long enough, stuff will break, the odometer gear maybe or the speedo cable, if you send it to palo alto or NHS you'll have it back in a week.

I have the same issue as well as bouncing. I guess it is off to Palo Alto. I did contact them and they quoted me $169.00 if I recall.
