I have reassembled my Webers after rebuild and cannot get a good seal at the needle value cover plugs. I'm using the aluminium gaskets called for. Does anyone have a tip?
Thanks in advance,
Rob

Try and try again.
Replace the crush washers and re-tighten. 3/8s drive long-handle ratchet for leverage or maybe a quick *brrp* with a low-torque 3/8s impact gun if you reach the end of your noose...
Good luck.
BTW, one of my friends just had to mill off one of the caps ... it's on my toolbox ... I saved it to show you what I meant. I'll snap a photo and upload it tonight.

one trick to get them tight is to use a modified socket you want to cut the bevel edge off of the socket so that it gets more bite on the cap this keeps from getting the feeling that your going to round off the hex head on the cap.

So Guys, the aluminium crush washers are the only choice and apply a lot of torque to tighten hard?

I use a 6pt box end wrench to get a nice grip without the moment arm that a socket introduces. I'm new here and don't want to be scorned, but there's always pookie for the really hard to seal situations.
BTW, are the carbs mounted? I don't think you can get them tight off the car.

Thanks to all. I got them to seal by applying a little more torque. No, they are not yet on the car.

How much torque is required? Do I really need a breaker bar? LOL

It takes a bit of oomph to crush a crush washer!
