    911R rear guards

Searching for some rear guards for my 911r project to replace the fibreglass RS guards currently fitted, any info on what year guard would be best, its a '66, should I get the SWB super narrow guards if for one day myself or someone else wants to go back to original or get the '69 onwards with the slight flare like the 911r had. Also do 7x15" wheels fit under SWB guards, do they need to be rolled?

    Opinions, suggestions please.
    Thanks.
    Kris.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking?
When you ask about wheels fitting under the guards?
The guards are the units bolted on the front and rear bumpers.
The wheels are nowhere near the guards.

    Welcome to the board Kris,

Which fender you chose for your 1966 depends upon the car you want in the end. If the 911R is the goal - the 1969 rear fenders are a good way to get there.

With the 1965 thru 1968 narrow fenders you can roll the fender lips and fit the 911R 7" wheels. Do a search on Harvey Weidman, he is the master wheel restoration and widening guy. He will direct you correctly to the wheels to fit either the 1969 fenders or the 65-68 fenders.

Espo, Aussies use the term guard in place of fender, it is derived from mud guard.

We call the rear "guards" near the bumpers "over-riders".

We sort of speak the same language and still manage to get confused:-)
