    There was a good tribute on Autoextremist last week. End of an era for sure. I count myself as one of those who used to look forward to every issue of Car & Driver back in the 70's and 80's and the early days of Automobile.

    Agree completely. I guess I am a fossil as I still get giddy when the current months car magazines come in the mail. I had one of those "They are finally getting it" moments a couple of weeks ago. I walked in the door after work and my 10 year old was sitting in the chair reading Excellence. He looked up and said Dad, check out the ________. honestly, I can't remember the car he wanted to show me, I was just glad to see him reading a car rag. Hopefully he was reading one of Mr. Conklin's well written tomes.
