    engine popping

I just purcased a 73.5 cis that had been sitting for a couple years. Drained gas, changed oil and new plugs. Started right up, has good oil presure and sounds great except for idle. It idles a little fast and pops. Will timing create this? What else could it possibly be? Thanks

A CIS car that has been sitting for a while will be subject to vacuum leaks due to old, cracked lines and seals. Be careful as this is the # 1 cause of the blown airbox.

+1 on this. Install a pop-off valve ASAP, if it doesn't already have one.
