SWB Koni Inserts

Hi Guys,

a while back I replaced my shock-absorbers (dampers) on my SWB '68 911T.
My car came with the standard Boge struts but it had red Koni inserts. The Koni inserts that were on my car are dated 1969 - Made in Holland. I also noticed that the threaded washer was attached to the insert (see pic). The current Classic Koni insert comes with a separate threaded washer that screws onto the strut.

When did this change occur? Did the separate threaded washer to screw down the insert first appear with non-SWB 911s?

Do you have the part number?

The O and A programme cars use a Koni Insert with Part Number 86-1394

the B programme cars use Koni Part Number 86-1647

the part number on the insert reads "82R-1394"

That is the old part number for the same application (1965-68 Boge replacements) . I do not know when the UIA catalog I'm looking at is dated (I only have one page) . But to give you an idea , the listed price is $41.30 each

I just took this insert out of my strut. It's dated 10.66.

The top of the strut (dust cover) is dated 2.67, it has the Porsche / Koni stamped in.
