    71 pull clutch question,I have searched.still stumped

I have a 71T that I have had for 20 years.I have driven it almost 200k miles and done most of the mechanical work myself including updating and replacing with new all of the clutch parts including pivot bolts pedal cluster a couple bowden tubes and clutch cables ect. all of the links in the mechanical chain ,so to speak. Through the changes one thing has remained a constant even with all new parts is that the clutch cable always is too long ,I have to modify the end of the cable either by cutting off some of the treads and bottoming the clevis at the pedal or add washers at the rear anchor point and then maxing the adjustment at the nuts so its almost out of threads even with all new parts.I think my car must be a cm or two short, the bowden tube stub out of the tunnel is fine and the engine trans are in the stock position. Any guesses? keep in mind that all of the parts have been replaced with new or updated parts. It works fine but I have no more adjustment left ,ever. Steve

Is this your set-up? If so, do you have all these parts including the two nuts that lock together? Thanks.

Is your bowden tube routed up and thru bracket 54? Since you've had several bowden tubes I guess we can assume they are the right length. Has your system ever been right? Would you be able to measure the length of 51, I'll compare it with a known good one.

It is the steel aftermarket replacement unit avail. from pelican but I will measure it from the ears to the flat. The system has always been maxed out on adjustment even when every component is new. Steve
