    Pittsburgh Foreign & Domestic Info

I am looking to find information about the first Owner of my car and I came across the original key ring the other day; it must have been where it was serviced or sold.

    On Key Tag:

    Pittsburgh Foreign & Domestic
    1038 Route 8 Glenshaw PA
    487-8071

    Via Internet:

    Pittsburgh Foreign & Domestic * 412-487-8071 * 1034 William Flynn Hwy * *

The number is no longer connected; any leads or info on this place?

    Thanks,
    -Andrew

I grew up in Pittsburgh, right next to Glenshaw. Our home phone's prefix was 486. There was never a dealer on Route 8. There was one downtown and in Sewickley. The one in Sewickley is still around. I want to say that the one downtown was called Continental Motors. My dad bought a 356C from them.

Your place must have been a repair shop.

I drove that stretch of road today... twice.

Let me ponder this a bit. I think that exact address of Route 8 is an empty field now, but there are several independent shops on Route 8, and maybe Pittsburgh Foreign & Domestic morphed into one of them.

I've never heard of a Porsche dealership on Route 8, but the auto business was very loose several decades ago, and dealers would sell anything they could, no matter what franchise they represented.

This seems like a pretty cold lead, but I'll let you know if I can kick anything up.

I grew up in Glenshaw and there wasn't much of anything there.

Thank you for all of the efforts and help. I have talked to the second owner and all he has been able to tell me is that he bought it while on the way into Pittsburgh to pick up a Ferrari 308 for/with his brother (mid 90s). Legend has it that was from the original owner. So high possibility that the car was serviced at the shop then.

    Thanks again guys,
    -Andrew

I called another local business and was able to get contact info for the owner; unfortunately the records for the time period I would need are long gone. Dead end for now.

Wonder why it seems odd to others that one would be looking for the original owner of their car or any history?
