The little things that make us smile

I love swap meets. I enjoy being the first person in the door or on the grounds and racing around capturing the good deals before anyone else. A lot of the stuff I find is exciting because I know that I can resell it and help finance my current project. Occasionally, I find something small and relatively cheap for my own collection that is worth more in coolness than its actual value would suggest.

Yesterday, I was walking around. It was mid-morning and I was soaked to the skin from the rain that had increased from a mist at 5 am to a downpour at 6 am. I was walking past a small station wagon just as the owner pulled this license plate out of the back seat and set it on his table. We negotiated a price and I walked away with a stupid grin of satisfaction on my face.

Ok, so yeah, it says S-T on it and I'm building an ST influenced hot-rod. So sure, its kinda cute and kitschy. But big deal? Meh.....
What is cool about it can be explained by these pictures.

For those that haven't had the pleasure of attending a swap meet with Dave - don't be lounging in front of his motel door at 4:30 am or you will be trampled.

    Nice find.
