Thread: 911 S Bumper Guard only for S deco?

911 S Bumper Guard only for S deco?

My bumper guards are mismatched on a steel bumper. Does deco being larger on an S require a bumper guard only for an S?

One of the bumper guards has a vent on the back side, similar to my '67 912 guards. The other doesn't have the vent. Both have rubber on the front.

Your experience with S cars is greatly appreciated.

    Thank You

    Gene

Yes, the bumper guards are specific to the deco strip; narrow or wide 'S' type.

I have found the vented S bumper guards in 67 and 68 cars that I have owned. Not sure when the changeovers to the plastic back happened if it was in 68 or 69.

    regards,

A "T" can have S trim, so it would have the appropriate bumper guards too, but on a T bumper.

Your T (or any 1972-73 T) could have been ordered with front spoiler m473 . And if option M470 / 'appearance group' was not ordered . It would come without the wide trim. Regarding front bumperettes , I do not know the option number for chrome bumperettes in 1972 - 73 MY . But by 1973 MY the 'Rilsan' coated (black) versions were option m411. So obviously chrome was available also.

If ordered as described above , the S spoiler would have been delivered just as yours in the photo is.
