    Wheel decoding help

I recently purchased a decent "lot" of Porsche parts which included several bins of parts and 7 wheels. There are two deep dish Fuchs, one deep dish cookie cutter and 4 early cookie cutters. I've noticed in several threads that there are part and date code identifiers on OEM wheels and need some help finding and deciphering them.

One of the wheels is stamped ATS which I would assume means it's a replacement or was this the manufacturer for later wheels?

    Any help is appreciated!

Pictures of the wheels including the numbers on the back sides will be helpful in figuring out what you've got.

    Cheers!

Part numbers are helpful, ATS was a aftermarket that became a factory supplier (common name is cookie cutters).

I have attached photos of the wheels. One of the wheels was worn enough that I couldn't get a clean shot of the number.

Here is what the photos are of:
    1. black deep fuchs
    2. black deep fuchs # (couldn't find it. is this an aftermarket?)
    3. regular cookie cutter
    4. deep cookie cutter

I didn't see any date stamps.

Here's my attempt at decoding your shots.
    1. 911.361.020.41 = 7X15 original fuchs (fox head on the back) circa '77-'83
    2. can't see any of the standard stampings, looks aftermarket. I've never seen a load limit stamped on an original wheel.
    3. 911.361.023.44 = 6X15 ATS "cookie cutter"
    4. 911.361.023.54 - 7X15 ATS "cookie cutter"

Hope this is a little helpful.

Thanks Kent. Is there any way to decipher the production year of a wheel? I've seen that the purest ensure that the wheels match the year of the car. I couldn't find anything that would tell me something like this. Perhaps there is another marking on the wheel that I didn't see?

The Fuchs will have a 3-4 digit code stamped near where the hub opening is. Your only Fuchs should be in the 77-83 range. The ATS wheels are going to fall in the post '73 range based on when they were used. I'm not sure where the date code will be on those. Sorry.

I'm assuming the ATS wheels are factory installed? I can't imagine anyone wanting to make knockoffs of these wheels.
