    Claimed: factory ducktail with wiper

Kinda doubt it's genuine but thought I'd share. Seller is somewhat notorious for unsatisfactory dealings under 4 or 5 names, most commonly Geoff Wattiker and CML Frazier. Multiple eBay accounts, too. flatsixkicks, re-porsche. Probably more. Just do your homework on any Porsche/Porsche parts sellers in Chapel Hill NC

I cannot say 100% for certain whether it is factory or not as I do not know how normally a rear wiper would be attached on a 1973 or 1974 ducktail car ? Maybe they used the full length support as in 1975 MY & later whaletails (again I do not know. Normally a ducktail does not have a full length support bar ..as i'm sure most here know).

But the glass mat does not seem to be the normal type used in 1972-74 .

Also , notice the stamped number . It begins with 901. Any new part designated by 1972 would begin with a 911 part number. So this stamping seems hokey.

I noticed the photo of the stamped number showed the fiberglass mat better....DEFINATELY not the 1972-74 variety :

Here is a few I have.

    First up is RS 315

The next ones are from RS 1100. I am not sure how original the black part is that connects the latch brace to the grille opening. Certainly the fasteners are not original.

    Digging up an older thread.

Does anyone have any other photos that show a wiper mounted to the underside of a ducktail? I am curious if the black brace on the orange spoiler is a factory part of if this was fabbed up by someone. Thanks much.

    Fryadds ,

Do you have any photos of the top side of this tail ? And what is the story regarding this option on an F-series Carrera , was it available ? Gruber & Konradsheim don't list it , but I do not see why some could not have been made. Where there any 74 Carrera's built with m425 combined with m473 ?

Yeah, that is why I was asking if anyone had photos of other ducktails with wipers. The orange RS is 1100 and does not list M425 so just curious. Here is a photo of the top side.

Thx , when I said G & K does not list it . I meant in their whole options list period...not just on this car. That would make it seem , m425 was not available in 1973MY on a carrera.

You correspond with Dr. K , don't you ? If it interests you enough , maybe you can ask him if it was available at any point in the year (although you would think they get into this in the book , if it had been).

Here's a related question , that will tell me 'IF' they ever did..... how early in the year it could possibly have been.

In 1970-71 , did rear wipers ever get installed as an option fitted in factory production , on 911S models with alloy decklids ?

    (70SATMan will probably know this)

    Guys,
Here is a pic of 024 which is on the Freisinger site - some great pics if you have an hour or so to kill !
Page 118 G & K has a UK reg RS with a duck and wiper.
I think I have seen this RS at a Porsche Club GB event in my travels in the late '70s or early '80s.
I have 3 order listings for the '74s.
For Porsche Cars Australia and Porsche Cars GB,M425 is not available with the ducktail and on the Schipol(Amsterdam) list it doesnt say one way or another = ??
My '71 S was delivered in the UK with an alloy engine lid and a rear wiper but the lid has long since deceased.

    HTH,
    Dennis.

1970 914-6 - materialised from the 'Lotto' garage into reality
    1971 2.2 911 S - now back in the UK - sob!
1975 Carrera Targa (ROW) - missed.
