Paint Color for SWB Headlight Buckets?

What is the accurate color? I have seen many with a light gray, but recently saw a couple of sets refinished in silver. Thanks.

Scott - do a search for soldier grey. I'm about to paint another set and will use soldier grey again except I plan to hit it with a flat afterwards as the soldier grey is satin. It's the closest match I can find after experimenting with several greys from several brands. Also, I had a local powder coater do some test swatches for me. They had one grey that was real close but after they treated with a flat it changed the color completely.

That's right - Soldier Gray! Thanks Bob. I believe that I found an excellent match at the local hardware store, but just wanted to double check. Those lenses are going to look great on my car.

I have been looking for the correct headlight paint color. Both Soldier Grey (#7926) and Stone Grey (#7926830) are no longer manufactured. I looked at Ford Titanium Grey from another post and that looks way too dark from an on-line paint sample.

Any more suggestions? (I used the 356 engine fan grey on my 356 but I think that that is a little light)

I've used L472 Beige Grey (sorta greenish tint) as well as L345 Light Grey on VW & 356 headlight buckets,
available from VW restoration suppliers. Bucket resto is common, so why none of them offer the exact color is
a mystery. Krylon Satin Pebble and Satin Stone Grey are also close to Hella grey.

I posted this a LONG time ago, but will post again.

I had a NOS bucket color matched using a spectrograph at the local paint store - turns out the color formulation is identical to Ford Falcon Titanium Gray. I still have a quart in PPG at home and will post the formula.
