Thread: Numbers stamped on NOS body parts?

Numbers stamped on NOS body parts?

Did NOS Porsche body panels have any numbers or logos stamped on them?

There's one steel bumper I'm looking at but it has no numbers stamped on it, so I'm wondering whether it's real.

From what I have seen, no......only stickers with part numbers. I have had several NOS early fenders, rear deck lid, and floor section, no stamped numbers.

Only part I've seen stamped was a factory tail on a '75 Carrera. There was a part number stamped in the steel...

Strangely , when I looked at a 1973 911T recently . I noticed something I had never seen before. Some type of porsche number stamped into the rear steel decklid (unfortunately really did not look hard enough at it to remember it). I did not write it down. It was in between the licence plate lights. There was something regarding the decklid that made me believe it had been replaced , I cannot remember what it was.

If I have a chance to look at it again , I will take a photo and post it.
