    factory color change? - 1970T

Under resto at the moment we have a 1970T aussie delivered rhd , when the paint was stripped back we found the whole car was once tangerine orange. Now the paint tag says burgundy red , the coa says the same so the mystery is was the body painted tangerine by the factory but an order came through and they then repainted it the coa color ? and this is why the paint tag and coa match? has anyone come accross this before ?

if you give me the chassis number (PM if you like) and if it really is Australian ordered and delivered i can give you the original colour as ordered from the factory from the order sheets.

In any event i would appreciate some details / pics to add to / update my database

there were only 2 Burgundy T's delivered to Australia in 1970, one a 5 speed and the other a sporto (now a 5 speed).

I had a Tangerine car with Signal Yellow as the base color. It seems Porsche used a close color as the base coat to step up from the light primer.
