Hey Tom, glad I could help out. Nothing better to do since I couldn't make Treffen ;-)

You guys are rock-stars to be able to R & R that engine in two hours!

If the Mid-West makes it out next year I'm buying the beer...

I'd have pulled the motor and gear box out as a unit, as that is what I've usually done. It was Dave the shop owner that suggested I remove only the engine. With the early push style clutch is was so easy, you don't touch the throw out bearing. We just un did the engine mounts, lowered it down, and got the top trans bolts. Not having to fiddle with the axles etc. was huge. Piece of cake really. Everything is new so we didn't even get very dirty.

Thanks so much Dave! If not for your help I would have not been able to see Tom's car - one of my favorite cars there this weekend! Tom thanks for letting me sit in it as I needed to do some research on my next project. Sorry our conversation got cut short - next time!

Yeah, Dave Merz should be on the title of this thread. Credit where credit is due! I was just sitting behind my computer drinking a beer. =)
