Your best bet is to send it to dan pechtel at www.carsincnj.com He is the best I know of, quick turnaround and very high quality work. He also makes the correct front seal for our early cars.

David, thanks for the recommendation - I'll talk to Dan to get an idea of how things work there. Only thing I'm worried about with having someone doing the top restoration who is not local is that it's not possible for the restorer to do any necessary adjustments with the top on the car.

    Cheers

    Conny,
Dan uses a jig to make sure the top is straight. From my experience the front and rear should be perfect. The areas that will need attention are your side seals and top of window areas. Either adjust yourself or a body guy experienced with Porsche. At least you know you are starting with a straight top eliminating at least one variable.

    Hi -

I used Dave Brown out in Boulder, Colorado, and he did an absolutely beautiful job on mine. See my post in the Show your ride thread to see pics. He called me throughout the restoration to get my input and discuss things as he was doing them. He also took detailed pictures of the entire process and sent me a CD along with the top. He also uses a jig of his own design to ensure a true fit. Along with that he asked me for detailed measurements of my car, which he describes how to do very easily. I would recommend him to anyone.

    His number is 303/499-0110
