    Thanks, Tony from TLG

Here is the story: I was getting ready to check out of the hotel after 3 days of uninterrupted mechanical excellence and all of a sudden my car wouldn’t turn off! My first instinct was to stall the engine by letting out the clutch. Then the real panic set in; the fuel pump was still buzzing which meant that the ignition was still on. I tried repeatedly to turn it off or restart and no luck. Then the real panic began: I tried to disconnect my batteries and then I remembered that I replaced the wing nuts with regular nuts; where are my tools? On the bench of course; visions of melted wires and billowing smoke in the check out parking lot of the Hyatt; I hope my fire extinguisher still works, not that it would be that much help on electrical fires. Quick find some tools or better yet find someone who has a clearer head and some advice. Then I remembered waving goodbye to Tony from TLG as he was putting his luggage in his car. So I bump started the car (with the help of Steve Childs-bum leg and all). Drove back to see Tony. I explained that it wouldn’t turn off and he said it probably is the alternator feeding back. Then I said that it wouldn’t start. He said, “then it’s the switch”. Sure enough I felt the back of the switch and it was loose about to fall off. My mind wandered back to that “extra” screw lying on the floor when I was prepping for the Targa a few weeks ago. In a few short words Tony diagnosed my problem and I was back on the road. I know it doesn’t sound like a big deal now, is sure was at the time. BTW if you ever find a extra fastener lying on the floor it really isn’t extra. Not only do he and Marco help on this board but they are great in a pinch. Thanks, Tony..

    Thumbs up

I've found through the years that Tony (and now Marco) are always the first one's in to help, and last one's around to make sure you're OK...... good'on'm, and good for us...

Ask Tony why He was the last one in the parking lot!

Seriously..... Tony, much like you Harvey, not only benefits from our passion but is also a benefactor of our passion.

At past events there has been discussion on timing our departure just before Tony departs.
He always stops to help when there is a 911 parked on the shoulder.
