    Ebay Auction 1971 Speedster

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/First...#ht_688wt_1167

Is this the car we have a thread on...........

    My mistake...

    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...+car+speedster

This car is interesting.... Anybody up that way to give it an inspection and report to the board? The story is interesting. Surprised by the lack of pictures given the writer's prose....

I tried to get a picture off ebay, but was denied( a new thing?)

Here's a shot I took of the other one at the 356 registry holiday.

I'm curious what the market values these historyed period hot Rods. Personally I think that they will one day be as highly regarded as some of the golden age custom cars of the 40's and 50's.

Here are the pics. I think a lower hump would be better but its still quite cool.

I think I have some other pics saved somewhere too.

Not sure if this is the same car that was for sale in 2007 or this could be the "twin" referenced in the ad write up but it sure looks similar.

    Hey Bob,

I have the same pics stored away - pretty sure its the same car. Looks better in some pics than others.

I quite like it. I wonder what the reserve will be?

No sale - auction ended at US$20,100.00 without hitting reserve.

I saw the car at the Ventura event several years ago... If the rear could be de-humped, I could love it. Easy to do a quick and dirty job in PhotoShop. Rather a large undertaking in sheet metal.

Hello The silver Speedster was built in the Bay Area in the early 70's by Stan Townsen (spelling)
It was all over N Cal. I owned it for a very short time after a small spin out. The Black car was also mine and was made from a 1970. Super fun to drive and all metal. I have a new 1 that will be done early next year. George P.Valerio Lincoln,Ca

I agree much better without the hump. I would love an early speedsterish 911. Anyone know how or if the door windows work?

I'd also like it more if it had a chrome windshield and trim.
