    UNPAINTED/RAW Decklid Engine Grill???

Need help in figuring out why this engine grill has no black paint on the support bars. I don't know if it's been disassembled and stripped or if it's OE. The residual evidence of the rubber mounting washers is throwing me off.
Any help in determining why the bars are not painted black would be appreciated.

I'd say the paint was stripped while together. The rivets look original to me and its tough to find relacements with the small heads. I did this with both my 5 and 3 bar grill. The stripper doesn't hurt the anodizing at all.

I Love the look myself. My plan is to have a deck lid with the recess blacked out so that the slats pop and the mesh is lost in the background.
