    shift knob style '66 911

    Hey All,

I have a '66 911 and the shift knob is way shiny, so I figure it's a replacement. What style is appropriate for this model year? I've seen the mushroom style, round without numbering, round with numbering... etc.

The transaxle is a 902/1 model. Not sure if that makes any difference whatsoever. Waiting for the sages.

Mushroom (with dimple I believe. 911 has dimple 356 T5/T6 has the same mushroom but w.o dimple).

Mushroom was used through 65. By 66 (not sure when, using up old stock) they switched to a plain round knob with no shift pattern atop. The shift pattern appeared atop the knobs in 68 I believe.

They might have changed in the summer MY67. My June car does have the mushroom.
