Going to the Porsche factory June 18th

    Friends,
I am going to drive from Switzerland to Germany next weekend to see the Porsche factory. I was wondering if any of you had done this before? If so, do you have any advice on how to do it 'right'? Hotel advice?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes I have visited the factory several times over the years although the highlight was visiting Weissach in spring of 1986 and being hosted by Hans Metsger. The 959 and the Indy engines were being developed at the time, no cameras allowed. A very impressive facility. Probably more so now.
The new museum is probably the highlight these days. There are several very good Hotels as Stuttgart is a wealthy town. Try eating at the neighborhood restaurants as they pride themselves on their wild game cuisine. Great pastries too.
