Part ID front strut

Hi everyone,

this is my fist posting here. I live in Germany and found this is the most detailed forum on early 911's I have seen. Now here is a difficult question (at least for me). My front struts have the part ID showing on the outside. The number is 911.341.083.00 and .....084.00 for left and right side. These are Boge struts. What mistifies me is the fact that I cannot find that ID number anywhere in the usual porsche catalogues. Anyone has an idea. These struts seem to have a wider diameter than the normal ones. As my 911 is an E from 1971 it seems these were changed later and are not the original ones.

It's the hydro pneumatic strut. 70 and 71 E only?

thanks Richard, that must be it, I am surprised to see that these must be the original ones then and still on the car although they do have new inserts by now. I did not know about these web sites.
