Duplicate thread from Pelican: My '66 Coupe, and progression

    Gents,

I've been frequenting this site for some time now, and I really haven't taken the time to document my projects. Specifically, my '66 911 hot rod.

My plan for this car was to build a reliable, daily drivable hot rod. I was not looking to build an original car.

Here is where I ended up.

Then, some investment opportunities came up, and I realized I had built something with some value. It was not absolutely crucial that I sell, especially if it meant taking a considerable loss (one that would not outweigh the investment opportunity).

I posted a "what is my car worth" thread on the boards, and had very mixed responses.
I listed the car for sale. The market was flakey, and in perfect honesty, the car I had built was not for everyone and here is why.

Common throughout the purists was the need to return the chrome trim to the car. Since then, I have been working on replacing this trim.

The 911 SC seats installed in the car were said to be too new looking, and that I needed older style seats. This is what I have come up with.

In addition, people have said the current motor, 2.4 73.5 911 T motor was not fitting for a hot rod type. Because of this, I have sourced a 2.7 911S motor.

I will be updating this thread as the work goes on. Due to an insane schedule, it probably won't be as frequent as I'd like, but this thread will serve as motivation to spend more time in the garage!

To all that have supplied input on this car. Thank you.

Can't wait to see the progress. I remember when it was for sale. If I had the extra cash I would have bought it.
