*Super rare 1st year production valve covers*

FS a pair of 1st MY only, lower valve covers.
Subtly different from late 65>67, nicer, neater and higher fins.
A feature recently on the 'did you know' section of the Gunnar Racing webpage.
    Near perfect.
    $225 / pair shipped

To better illustrate how these are different for our forum members, could you perhaps post a photo of the side profile, taken from the end of the cover? That will show how the fin heights are "rounded" in profile vs. the "square" of the later ones. That profile and the absence of casting dates are the key to identifying these.

In the photo you post, of the Schenck engine dyno at the factory, the later covers are shown. See how the fins have a squared-off profile?

    gilbert911,

May I ask where you found the second picture, the one of the engine? And do you have any more of these early engine pics? Very interesting to me!

    Thanks,

Time to share another example. My 1964 valve covers with date markings on the lower as on the upper one.

As per my observation it is the same with 1964 engine cases or cam housings. Some have a date markings some don't.
