    356 Bonneville Build

    Hi guys,

I just posted about a "356 Bonneville Build" with a 911 mid-engine that I will be following on the blog. Here is the link: click here.

Saw that on your blog, John. Pretty cool, though I'm not clear on what class it would run with the flat six and other mods.
IIRC the modified stock 356 record is 151mph on a 1.5 liter flat four. Something I've thought about trying to beat with my own 356.

All it takes is time, more time, money and beaucoup dedication.

EDIT: Obviously didn't remember correctly. See below.

Looked it up to be sure... Paul Swanson set the H/GT record in 2003 @ 145.760 mph, a '51 356 powered by a pushrod 1496cc flat 4.

The vid isn't great but worth waiting for 1:18. Killer.

    Thanks Russ...that's cool.

I'm not sure what class it will end up end...they are still trying to figure that out.
