    Fender Mounting Hardware Question

In preparation for hanging front fenders I notice that the PET manual for early cars shows fender mounting with round washers. Aftermarket hardware kits include a steel and orange fiber washer for each screw. However, I've seen a rectangular plate used instead of the round washer on what appear to be original cars. Which is correct for mounting front fenders on 65-66 builds? If rectangular plates are, can you get them or do I need to make them?

    Thanks for any help

rectangular plates with rectangular rubber washers and Kamax "K" headmark screws.
I can't recall the dimensions of the plates at the moment but I think they are about 3/4" high by about 1" long.
    Try McMaster.

I had a few originals, went to the hardware store and bought a steel strip of the right dimension and cut my own.

Thanks Ed, hardware store had 3/4" wide aluminum, which I'll cut to length and drill. Not sure why PET shows round washer, although I've only seen rectangular on early 911/912s
