engine mounts - oem vs sport vs wevo vs other

so guys whats you take on the different mounts out there , the new car is a bad shifter in 1st / 2nd and the mounts are toast on the engine and trans . so based on the key points of hard driving on bad roads what have you found with the different makes ?
and what is a sport mount vs oem mount ?

Hi John, just a picture of a couple of examples, original left, wevo with street bushes, right, (it's been painted to lose the modern gold anodising)
and centre foreground, an RSR solid engine mount.

    cheers, Mike

Porsche "Club Sport" mounts are the same as cabriolet mounts and use a firmer rubber compound.

I like them a lot and put them in whenever new mounts are required.

Solid mounts are great because they don't let stuff move around, but the downside is twofold: 1) a lot of vibration and noise gets transmitted to the interior (especially when used on 915 transmission mounts) and 2) the twisting force of the engine need to go somewhere and instead of the rubber in the mount giving the steel engine hanger tends to break instead.

WEVO mounts strike a nice balance between the full solid an the Club Sport stuff ... very positive location of engine and trans, but just enough give to prevent snapping crossbars. They still transmit more noise and vibration than stock parts, but there will always be a compromise.

I keep 3 cars' worth in stock, but they are readily available through Porsche. They're a bit more expensive than the standard but well worth the added coin.

I installed the Club Sports and could tell no difference. Probably better than stock but who knows.
