    Separation Anxiety

Hoping for some decent weather here in SOFL over the holiday weekend so I can get a few hours of driving time in....before dropping Rudy off next next week at our local early Porsche body/paint expert's shop for a bare metal repaint.

Wondering how I'll survive for four months while the car is in the shop and I won't be able to drive it
    Cheers!

Hope the weather clears and you get that fix, Frank! Kanner Hwy out to the lake is always good... we've been meaning to do the ritual with the fresh Targa but haven't had a chance. If Sunday is decent, care to convoy?

Ed, we're lucky to have a wizard that turns high quality bare tub paint jobs around faster than Earl Scheib.
His metal guy is exceptional, too.

You'll be lucky if it's four months! It took my wife and I two just to put parts back on (that we could do...), after we got the 911 home! Remember Captain Penskes' quote ... "Effort Equals Results".

Six years and counting here Frank. . . my advice is to hook up with some friends who have 911s. . . so you can remember the bark of a flat-six and not lose interest when you write one big check after another! Good luck and all the best, we have been there and understand your frustrations and triumphs to come.

Yes....four months maybe a little optimistic....but we'll wait and see how it goes.

Russ....Greg M in Stuart is doing the job. Same shop that did Phil B's light ivory 67S.
    Cheers!

BTW....we're not doing a complete disassembly. Drivetrain and suspension will stay intact since all of that has been redone over the five years. Glass and interior are coming out along with removing fenders, doors, and lids. Hoping required metal work is limited to rockers and right rear seat pan.
    Cheers!

Frank, how can you be assured of getting the rockers on correctly without bolting the car to a Celette? And to put it on the bench. . .the suspension has to come off. . . Not to say that there aren't guys who do rocker replacement without the bench but if you want 4mm door gaps when it's done that is the best way.

Not trying to gold-plate your budget but to give you the benefit of experience that it's always 3x worse once you get it all apart.
