    FS: 1968 911 Coupe

Deposit received, pending payment of balance, car has been sold.

This is a normal coupe that can be driven as is, but is an excellent restoration candidate. Originally metallic blue (code 52300-L) with the original and very late aluminum case 2.0 motor.

Whenever I see cars like that I wonder how much it would cost fix it (meaning make it a long hood again).

This one is perhaps a bit more difficult than some other conversions I have seen, but still relatively simple. The shop in which I'm a partner can do the fix and return the car to the original color at a very reasonable price, still leaving some upside for a new owner.

    Update regarding mechanical condition

As I have driven the car a bit over the past few weeks to sort it out, the engine does have a couple of issues which I don’t have time to deal with. The #3 cylinder has low dry compression (80lbs) but this jumps up to around 150lbs wet, suggesting that the rings may be the culprit. The motor idles well and produces good power up to about 4000 rpm, but is flat after that, being very difficult to rev beyond 5000rpm and power falling off. It has been suggested that this might be due to a flat cam, but I don’t want to pull the motor and tear it apart. Removal of the valve covers and a visual inspection doesn’t reveal anything that looks obviously wrong, so it may be just wear and tear of a 43 year old engine that sat for a while. As a result, price has been reduced to $10,900 obo
