    Odd 67 911 Bumper Guards

    Hi All.
I had just pulled a 67 911 out of super long storage. It has been off the road since 75. I am looking at the bumper guards and I have not seen this style of the rubber protectors on the guards before. My best guess it that they are aftermarket. Can anyone shed some light on this.
    Cheers, Jim Bach.

Looks like someone took a grinder to them Jim.

To me they look like "S" Deco rubber simply cut at the ends then mounted to your bumper guards.

Thanks for some imput. The rubber is about 1.25" thick. Thicker than the originals and the ends are smooth like they were made in a mold. I will take a end shot to show the depth.
    Cheers.

    Hi Jim,

"S" Deco is quite thick and it's possible that's what your seeing but I could be wrong. When I get home later this week I'll see if I still have some lying around and I'll send you a pick.

So you may have OEM bumper guards sans rubber which are totally cool!

Doesn't look at all like any repurposed Porsche part. Likely it was a part created for another car and added to the bare bumperettes by PO or vendor. I've seen rubber like this on vintage Citroens, for example.
