    Gulf colors are OK but I'd prefer a pair without any McQueen BS on them.

    Peter, i can say that these shoes are much better than open toe Conklin footwear when driving in the mountains.

    they lend themselves well to walking a borrowed dog or two in New York's Central Park

    i have not tried tree climbing in them

    they are very light and comfy. the optional orange laces make them look like da business

    Yes, they are a little 'showy', but compared to the money that is spent on our cars for stuff that doesn't do anything other than sit there, they can actually be used for great driving, (or hanging around a long hood gathering). Nicolas has done some neat designs with these shoes, and they are well made and comfortable. And if you happen to have a car that color matches...so much the better....(better be ready to smile a lot).
